TMJ- Balance the jaw- balance the body
Introducing our newest tool for bringing balance to the body-RESET- Rafferty Energy System of Easing the Temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
TMJ-Affects more than your jaw!
Did you know...
The TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) not only allows your jaw to move in several directions but also links with many of the head's nerves, muscles, and meridians which can affect organ function. The slightest imbalance can have serious consequences. By clenching your jaw or grinding your teeth when you're stressed, upset or concentrating, the muscles are kept in a contracted position. You may even do this in your sleep without knowing it. Poor posture can put a strain on the muscular and skeletal systems that are closely related to the jaw muscles and joints. There is a significant influence between the TMJ and other major muscles of the body. An example of this is the Psoas muscle as it relates to the kidneys. Bringing the Psoas muscle into balance through the TMJ can affect hydration and improved elimination of toxins and improved kidney function.
There are numerous symptoms related to TMJ imbalance: jaw pain-allergies-noise or pain when chewing-grinding or clenching of teeth-learning difficulties-tight shoulders-ear pressure-tinnitus-dizziness-blurred vision-headaches/migraines-digestive disorders-bladder problems-hiatal hernia-neck, eye, spine, hip, knee, ankles, feet pain.
Some possible causes: car accident-Whiplash- prolonged stress- knock to the head or jaw- dental work.
Solution- If you have ever knocked your jaw, been under prolonged tension, or had any of the above, even as a child, the jaw muscles may have become hypertonic (too tight) and could still be out of balance. This puts stress on the jaw muscles, which once released allows a return to balance and normal functioning. Imbalances in the TMJ affect the whole body and function. Enhanced Living now offers the simple relaxing method of resetting the TMJ to balance. This technique (RESET) is done in two sessions of 1 hour each. If you experience any of the above symptoms your pain may be connected to your TMJ. Schedule an appointment to have it checked.
